Tax Accountant

As a result of their continued success, they are seeking a Tax Accountant for a newly created role. This position will report directly to a highly experienced and supportive Tax Manager. Based at the head office, you'll play a key role in managing tax reporting and compliance obligations for the group.

In this hands-on position, you will be responsible for preparing tax calculations and returns, as well as assisting with tax accounting and reporting. This role is ideal for someone eager to dive into day-to-day tax activities and who is motivated to learn and grow within a large organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare tax calculations and returns related to income tax compliance, FBT, payroll tax, and goods and services tax (GST).
  • Draft and submit statements and documents to the Tax Manager within set deadlines.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Coordinate with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), Inland Revenue Department (IRD - New Zealand), and other regulatory bodies as required.
  • Oversee portal management and process access requests to tax authorities.
  • Prepare business income tax returns and audit-related statements.
  • Regularly assess systems, implementing necessary updates and improvements.
  • Maintain consistent communication with key stakeholders.

About You:

  • CA/CPA qualified or nearing completion.
  • Previous experience in tax within a large organization is highly regarded.
  • OneSource experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously.
