Senior Financial Accountant

Job description

This leading Australian fund manager has been the pinnacle of performance and innovation for the last 20 years. They are currently seeking a senior financial accountant on an interim basis, with strong potential to move into a permanent role.


Responsibilities:


As a senior financial accountant, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Client Reporting: Prepare and deliver accurate and timely financial reports to clients, ensuring adherence to their specific requirements.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Client and Auditor Management: Serve as a key point of contact for clients and auditors, addressing their inquiries and providing necessary support.
  • Issue Resolution: Proactively resolve client issues and respond to ad hoc queries, demonstrating a commitment to excellent client service.
  • Accounting Support: Address accounting and general ledger queries from both internal business units and clients.
  • Process Improvements: Collaborate in assisting with related systems, process, or internal change initiatives, actively contributing to process improvements.

Experience and Qualifications:


To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Approximately 7+ years of commercial experience in financial services accounting or financial reporting.
  • A strong understanding of fund accounting, reporting, and related operational risk and compliance requirements within the client service function.
  • A degree in Business, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Qualified Accountant (CA/CPA).
  • Proficiency in using central accounting systems and producing reconciliations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and internal stakeholders.
