General Manager Procurement

Job description

A leading, high-performing company with a vast portfolio of industrial and commercial properties across the Australia is seeking a General Manager of Procurement.

This newly created and crucial role will see you leading the national procurement function, working closely with external consultants to transition the business from a decentralised to a centralised model. Reporting to the finance department, you will initially oversee two direct reports, with plans to expand the team to six members over the next 18 months.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Procurement Lead ready to step into a General Manager position. You should have a proven track record of influencing and managing diverse stakeholders while driving transformative change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the strategy, operating framework, and team structure for the centralised procurement and facilities function.
  • Leading and managing procurement projects for the FM categories
  • Negotiating all commercial contracts
  • Manage supplier relationships and drive cost savings.
  • Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiating contracts to ensure cost-effective procurement.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with supplier relationships and procurement activities.
  • Develop contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions.
  • Lead transformation and improvement projects.
  • Educate and support stakeholders in understanding the importance of procurement processes.
  • Develop, implement, and manage strategic procurement policies,
  • Control costs and identify operational efficiencies.

Skills :

  • A minimum of 8-10 years' experience in a Procurement Lead role
  • Strong preference will be give to candidates with CIPS qaulification
  • Experience and comprehensive understanding of building hard services
  • Extensive knowledge in categories in building management Categories such as, HVAC, Cleaning, Security, Fire & Electrical,
  • Candidates from Facilities Management, Aged Care, Hospitality or Property are urged to apply
  • Experience in contract negotiations and transformation and improvement projects
  • Strategic Supplier Relationship Management
