Our client has a newly created Cyber Security Specialist role for their growing IT team. This will be a full-time permanent role starting ASAP based in Sydney NSW.
What you will do:
- Drive continuous improvement and development of the company's security strategy.
- Manage vendor relationships to monitor and identify vulnerabilities.
- Conduct risk assessments to uncover additional vulnerabilities and ensure risk mitigation strategies are in place.
- Enhance the company's compliance with industry regulations and frameworks.
- Educate internal stakeholders through training to foster a "security culture."
- Collaborate with the technology team and external vendors to build an incident response framework.
- Identify and implement upgrades to existing systems and processes.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in a similar role, demonstrating hands-on expertise with security tools and serving as a primary point of contact for security matters.
- Certification in CISSP and/or CISM.
- Understanding and experience working in a hybrid environment, on-premise and Azure.
- Knowledge of network security, firewalls, and endpoints.
- Experience leading training sessions to educate teams on the importance of security.
- Experience building or contributing to an incident response framework within a small team.
